Apgar Family Farm began when we started checking the ingredients labels for ourselves. The local grocery store became more and more difficult to enjoy when food labels started looking more like poison control warnings in our eyes. We decided that the best thing for our family was locally grown and raised food that we could follow back to the farmer. Before we knew it, we were raising our own poultry, lamb, and vegetables which turned our big yard into a small farm. With only 10 acres of land in Elliston, VA, we now raise, process, and sell over 100 pasture raised chickens each year. We’re currently growing our flock of Katahdin sheep, and are constantly pulling from the garden.
